A list of easy baking recipes that we use all the time with our substitutions and method tweaks.

Cinnamon Spiced Apple Bread by Inspired Taste

  • Substitutions: carrot for 1 apple; reduce sugar a smidge and replace some of sugar with maple syrup; 1/2 cup applesauce for oil and 1 egg; no mix-ins.
  • Method tweaks: none, but bake for 55 minutes.

Healthy Pumpkin Bread Recipe by Cookie and Kate

  • Substitutions: applesauce for oil; cinnamon and ginger for spice mix; mix-in chocolate chips.
  • Method tweaks: none, but bake for 60 minutes.

Chocolate Zucchini Bread recipe by Two Peas and Their Pod

  • Substitutions: 1/2 cup applesauce for 1 butter and oil; fewer chocolate chips.
  • Method tweaks: only put chocolate chips in bread, not on top.

Salted Tahini Chocolate Chip Cookies by NYT Cooking

  • Substitutions: none.
  • Method tweaks: freeze balls in bag for individual cookie making and bake for 16-18 minutes.

4-Ingredient Homemade Artisan Bread by Sally’s Baking Recipes

  • Substitutions: whole wheat flour for bread or all purpose (up to 1/2 recipe).
  • Method tweaks: none, but use the pan method.

Date Nut Energy Bar recipe by Cook Craft Cultivate

  • Substitutions: 1.5x flax and hemp, no chia; nuts = peanuts, cashews, and/or almonds; other dried fruit = apricots and cranberries.
  • Method tweaks: blitz nuts first, then blitz fruit, then add nuts to fruit.

Easy Blueberry Crumble by Inspired Taste

  • Substitutions: apples instead of blueberries.
  • Method tweaks: bake longer because it has apples instead of blueberries.
